I just finished the Splash List's Whale Rider. I really really liked it and would recommend it to all who like whales.

I agree it has been a hot summer and am feeling a little lazy myself. I just finished A Bottle in the Gaza Sea from the Splash list. I thought it was pretty good don't know if I would recommend it to others though.

Why wouldn't you recommend A Bottle from the Gaza to others? I'm curious... :) I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Whale Rider. I didn't know it was a book until after I'd seen the movie. (The movies excellent, by the way).

A Bottle from the Gaza was a slow to start book. It was boring in the beginning and some might not continue to read it long enough to get to the more interesting parts. I kept putting it down and struggled to want to continue to read it, Mom told me to finish it though otherwise I don't think I would have.
